The above contributor, Mr. Adewunmi has missed the point. The issue under discuss is not for a search of a national language. We are talking about individual native tongues. Given your surname, I know that you are a yoruba man. The issue under discu…

If I am not wrong, there are more than 500 tribes in Nigeria which means more than 500 languages/dialects. How are we supposed to know all these languages? But English is the main language for Nigeria as a means for you to communicate with each othe…

This ugly trend is accentuated by our long colonial experience. We have been brain-washed to believe that another man's medium of communication is superior to ours. To ameliorate the situation, our educational policy makers should understudy the Asi…

It is no more news that many teenagers and youths cannot speak simple "come" or "go" in their native tongues. It is now very common in cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt among other cities. One of the causes can be traced to inter-tribal marria…

Of Midnight Battle and Victory

A friend of mine once asked me “Why are so many churches laying more importance on Night Vigil. The answer was not far fetched. I replied him straight away.

I told him that it is from midnight that the enemies start to plant evil seeds in the lives of innocent people. The evil seeds could be in the form of sickness, bareness, debt, failure and all sorts of things that do not glorify God in our lives. May the enemy not succeed in sowing evil seeds into our lives in Jesus name.

TRULY, THE LORD IS OUR SOURCE.

“The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Psalms 34 verse 10.

The above word of God written through David cannot be read or meditated upon without one asking the question: How can a powerful lion, king of the jungle, lack food to eat? This question is necessitated given the fact that lion is a very strong, powerful and tactical animal. All animals and even man dread lion.

“Lion has a special unique skills normally passed from mother… Continue

Your Mind: A goldmine or a land mine?

The mind is the seat of power and wisdom. How we make use of our mind matters alot. The book of Proverbs 23 verse 7 says "As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is."

How do you manage the t… Continue

Jesus Changed Me.

Back in the days, 1975 to be precise, I started cultivating the dangerous habits of smoking and drinking. Before I realised what I was doing to myself I was neck-deep in the habits. Then I was in class 1 in the secondary school. Surprisingly, the habits did not affect my academic performances in all the five classes I went through. It was very surprising because I was a truant. I was never in the class because I was always out of the campus exhibiting unruly behaviours with other "bad boys".
